Your First Visit

Here's what to expect when you visit us for the first time.

Before attending your first appointment please complete:

Your first consultation is an assessment. The appointment will be between forty-five minutes and one hour. Your Psychologist will talk with you about the centre and how we can help. They will also find out what you hope to gain from coming to us.  The assessment includes questions about work, family, your psychological history and any other relevant information. This is so we can understand you, your pain, and the impact it has on your life. It also allows us to develop a treatment plan for you.

At the end of the assessment the psychologist will make some recommendations. These may be further individual psychological sessions, a referral to another health professional, or for you to undertake the Intensive Pain Program.

A report or letter will be written and sent to your referrer.
